Style Tips from London & Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2018
When it comes to street style look, London & Milan have always had a distinguished edge over others.
After a whirlwind weekend, London Fashion Week Men’s 2018 & Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2018 has left us reeling with some striking looks for Spring/Summer 2019 – some easier to embrace while others harder to forget.
From Lou Dalton, Charles Jeffery Loverboy to Giorgio Armani and Fendi, the leading designers put forth the classiest & striking trends of the year, which will decide what you’ll be wearing next summer or the coming winter for the fashion forwards.
From fabrics, styles, colours, to accessories, here’s our takeaway from both the fashion weeks:
Shades of Brown
Complementing the season, colours like tan, toffee, tobacco, and more neutral shades of brown were prominent on the ramp with neon-green accents. A lot of designers chose the autumnal color palette for a smooth transition into summer in both top and bottom-wear. It’s safe to say that brown will be a good pick for an autumn as well as a summer wardrobe.

The Comeback of Velvet & the 80’s
Often viewed as a traditional evening wear staple, the plush and silk velvets found their way into casual day-wear.
Lou Dalton presented an impressive blue velvet coat with dark brown velvet trousers while Sullivan’s collection brought the traditional wool suiting combined with velvet and corduroy in the mix.
In Milan, both Armani & Fendi welcomed the 80’s in the shape – high-waisted gaucho-style trousers, with unconstructed jackets that were zoot-like in cut – and in the styling, worn over T-shirts, or waistcoats, in leather, knits, tie-dye prints and one party line had been drawn: in menswear, logos are going nowhere.

Baggy Tailoring
The collections specifically showed many instances of comfort over everything and 80’s inspired silhouette. Alex Mullins, John Lawrence Sullivan, Tonsure, evidently presented loose and dropped tailoring in light shades of grey, slate, and ivory.
Khalid Qasimi’s collection featured baggy trousers, and oversized coats.

Reviving the Leather with Florals
Leather was a prominent presence in the both the cities. From grunge styles to sports luxe looks, Sullivan, Daniel W. Fletcher, and Loverboy showcased well-tailored leather designed tastefully. In Milan, Versace showed us how leather jackets complement street-wear in a floral bomber style and leather pants were prominent on the ramp.
Shoes, Scarves, and Sunglasses
Besides the exquisite tailoring and striking fabrics, the accessories didn’t manage to miss our keen eye.
The Matrix fame tiny sunglasses are back in trend teamed up with chic leather and sportswear collection.The last season NYC hit cowboy boots again made a stunning appearance this LFWM, while sneakers were more focused on comfort. Scarves maintained their popularity and accessibility. Supersized scarves worn over jackets, or blazers can complete your perfect millennial look.

Overall, the collections were evidently focused on comfortable and everyday wearable styles that kept up with the season’s aesthetic.
